9月12日，活动家Lindelwa Nxumalo表示，一个由70个民间团体所组成的联盟，计划在9月13日（周五）走上约堡Sandton街头游行并封锁证券交易所，以表达反性别暴力和仇外暴力的诉求，希望政府能硬起来并采取行动。

在宣布计划后，Lindelwa Nxumalo发布声明南非妇女们能加入行动，并希望在所有在Sandton企业商家能在当天关闭并加入游行的活动。
