特朗普：我也逆行过。

当地时间周三，在多次劝说美方取消肇事者外交豁免权、反复喊话肇事者主动返回英国接受调查无果后，约翰逊直接跟特朗普交涉了。而特朗普不但直接拒绝，话里话外还将事故原因归咎于英国靠左行驶的驾驶规则，并说这事“在所难免”(it happens)，大家都会犯这种错。

Donald Trump has defended the wife of a US diplomat accused of killing a British teenager in a road accident, suggesting it is difficult to drive on the other side of the road and that “it happens”.
特朗普帮那个被控撞死英国少年的美国外交官妻子说话了，他说，在反方向开车是很困难，而且“这种情况时有发生”。
Speaking at the White House after a conversation with prime minister Boris Johnson, during which he apparently rejected a request to consider waiving the woman’s diplomatic immunity and her returning to Britain to face the police, the president said he wanted to try and bring about “healing”.
在与英国首相鲍里斯·约翰逊通话后，总统在白宫记者会上回答了相关问题。显然他已经拒绝了约翰逊让他撤销这名女子的外交豁免权并让她返回英国接受警方调查的请求。他说，他希望(受害者家属)能得到“治愈”。

失去儿子的痛怎么才能“治愈”？最起码得让肇事者来面对他们吧。特朗普说，美国政府会尽快跟肇事女子沟通，看能不能想出什么办法(“see what we can come up with”)。他还说他理解英国民众为什么会愤怒，因为许多美国人也非常同情少年父母目前面临的处境。
虽然表了这么多态，他依然支持理解肇事女子的行为。
“The woman was driving on the wrong side of the road. That can happen,” he said. “Those are the opposite side of the road. I won’t say it ever happened to me, but it but it did.”
“那个女人开反方向了。这不是不可能的事，”他说。“那边都是反着开的。我不会说我犯过这种错，但这的确会发生。”
He added: “When you get used to driving on our system and then you’re all of a sudden on the other system where you’re driving it happens. It happens. You have to be careful.”
他补充道：“当你习惯了我国的驾驶规则，突然切换到其他另一套规则时，就会发生这种情况。在所难免。要小心些。”

《每日邮报》指出，特朗普之所以能说出这番话，是因为他自己也逆行过，
Trump, speaking publicly for the first time about the case, made no commitment to send Sacoolas back to the UK - instead suggesting that he himself had driven on the wrong side of the road, adding: 'That can happen'.
首次公开谈论此案的特朗普并未承诺将萨科拉斯送回英国，相反他暗示他自己也曾逆行过，还说：“这是可能的。”

很多人被特朗普的“在所难免”惊呆了，说这样的话不但对受害者家属起不到任何安慰作用，还给英国民众的愤怒情绪火上浇油。
我在美国和欧洲开过几百次车了，从来没撞死过人。不过即使撞死了，我觉得“在所难免”这句话在法庭上应该也适用吧......
我能预料到他缺乏同理心，但这番话还是惊到我了。
“我们看看能做些什么”=我才不会再考虑。
治愈？让那个女人回来为自己的行为负责可好？
与此同时，有网友爆料，这位美国外交官其实并没有外交豁免权，因为他查遍英国政府官网的外交官名单，都没有找到Jonathan Sacoolas这个名字。
“There is no Jonathan Sacoolas on the official Diplomatic list. Neither Sacoolas nor his wife has any right to claim diplomatic immunity under the Vienna Convention.”

作者还解释说，乔纳森·萨科拉斯是美国国家安全局(NSA)的雇员，在皇家空军克劳顿基地(RAF Croughton)的通信拦截哨所担任技术官员，负责监听英国公民的通讯往来。该机构与英国情报机构政府通讯总部(GCHQ)共享信息，GCHQ也在美国监听美国人的通话。大概是因为这层特殊关系，美国方面才会如此“护短”。
根据《维也纳公约》，非外交人员并不能享受豁免权。不过，天空新闻此前的报道称，美国和英国之间达成了一项特别协议，将皇家空军克劳顿基地的工作人员也包括在可以申请外交豁免权的外交官名单内。
如果乔纳森·萨科拉斯真的没有外交豁免权，不知道特朗普和美国政府该如何下台，英美的“特殊关系”还能不能维持下去？
