On November 25th (local time), coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Spain Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the "First China-Spain Green Energy Forum" hosted by the Green Energy Committee of the China Chamber of Commerce in Spain was held at the Casa de América in Madrid. Co-organized by PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering's Spanish subsidiary EGIS, the China-Europe Science and Technology Innovation Center of PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering, China Three Gorges Europe, China Construction Bank (Europe), and Chint Energy, the forum aims to build an annual exchange and cooperation platform for China and Spain in the field of green energy. It gathered over 100 representatives from government authorities, industry organizations, and leading energy enterprises of both countries to jointly explore green energy cooperation opportunities and elevate the China-Spain energy transition partnership to a higher level.

Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador to Spain, and Jaime Peris, Special Representative of the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Luo Bixiong, Chief Scientist of PowerChina, Chairman of PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering, and President of China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech titled "Practice and Cooperation Prospects of China's Green Energy Development". Zhang Li, Deputy General Manager of PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering, also participated in the forum.

Yao Jing stated that China and Spain share a high degree of alignment in green development concepts. He hoped that both sides would take this forum as an opportunity to further expand practical cooperation and achieve more mutually beneficial outcomes in areas such as clean energy, green technology, and innovation platforms.
Jaime Peris pointed out that Spain attaches great importance to the development of the renewable energy industry. It is willing to work with Chinese enterprises to promote innovative collaboration, deepen cooperation in the green industrial chain, and jointly contribute to Europe's energy transition.

Luo Bixiong noted that the global energy system is undergoing a profound transformation, with the proportion of renewable energy continuing to rise and the accelerated construction of new power systems. Green and low-carbon development has become an important strategic consensus for China-Europe cooperation. He emphasized three points: first, the global green energy development has entered a stage of deep integration. China has significant advantages in renewable energy installed capacity, technological cost reduction, and industrial chain coordination; Europe has rich experience in system planning, market mechanisms, and technological innovation, and the two sides have strong complementarity. Second, the construction of the future energy system requires stronger system integration and coordination capabilities. With the deepening electrification of the energy structure, areas such as energy storage, smart grids, hydrogen energy, and green fuels are becoming key supports for building a safe, clean, and efficient energy system. Third, China-Spain energy cooperation has broad prospects. Whether it is green hydrogen, ammonia and alcohol, long-duration energy storage, offshore wind power, or data center energy solutions, there is a realistic foundation for establishing joint innovation platforms, co-building demonstration projects, and exploring business models.
Luo Bixiong expressed that PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering is willing to work with Spanish and European partners to give full play to its advantages in technology, engineering, and industry, promote the implementation of practical cooperation, and provide "Chinese solutions" for the global energy green and low-carbon transition.
The forum also featured four roundtable discussions, namely "Collaborative Development of the Green Energy Industry Chain", "Artificial Intelligence and the Future Energy System", "Financial Solutions for Green Energy Development", and "Green Energy Investment – Opportunities and Challenges".
The holding of this forum is an important milestone in deepening China-Spain cooperation in the energy field. In the future, PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering will continue to strengthen collaboration with European partners in areas such as green energy, engineering technology, demonstration projects, and technological innovation, and jointly promote the development of a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable energy future.
Wang Huan, Assistant General Manager of PowerChina Zhongdian Engineering, Pan Jun, Chief Expert, as well as relevant responsible persons and staff from the Overseas Department, International Company, Spanish Company, and East China Electric Power Design Institute under the company, attended the forum.
